Episode 26

BRANDON is looking at himself in the rear view mirror of his car.

BRANDON thinks - I knew I should've stopped! I'm so damn stupid!

(He gets out of the car and opens the passenger side door as his cell phone rings.)

BRANDON - What's up.

BRENDON - Hey, you okay? There's blood all in the...

BRANDON - Bathroom. I know. Shaving.

BRENDON - Shaving? Damn! You got any blood left?

BRANDON - Shut up. It wouldn't stop.

BRENDON - Ha ha ha ha! You okay?

BRANDON - I was trying to give myself a close shave and I knew I should've stopped and... nevermind. At least I didn't bleed all over my tux.

BRENDON - Ha ha ha ha ha, yeah, that would've been some shit!

BRANDON - Yeah.

BRENDON - You at the chapel yet?

BRANDON - Not yet, I'm picking up Breanna and oh wait, here she comes now. I'll hit ya back.

BRENDON - Aight. Tell Miri I said congrats. I gotta do some things to get back in good with the big brothers and my boys. You know how it is.

BRANDON - Yeah. Good luck.

(BRANDON hangs up.)

BREANNA - Wow. You clean up nicely.

BRANDON - And you aint so dirty yourself.

(They kiss. BRANDON opens the door for her.)

BRANDON thinks - Dag she is fine!

(He gets in the driver's side. BREANNA takes his hand as he drives off.)

BREANNA - What happened to your face?

(She notices the bandaid that he has on.)

BRANDON - Cut myself shaving and I'm pissed about it. I knew I should've stopped while I was ahead. Now I gotta have this big ol' stupid thing on my head in the wedding pictures.

BREANNA - Maybe they'll shoot your other side.

(BREANNA snickers.)

BRANDON - Oh its funny to you huh?

BREANNA - Awwww, don't get mad. I think its cute!

BRANDON - Yeah, tell me anything.

(They both laugh.)

BRANDON - You should see my bathroom. It aint cute. I couldn't stop it from bleeding.

BREANNA - Really? Gosh!

BRANDON - Oh yeah. Bren just saw it and called me to see if I was okay. I was really in a hurry to get to the church so I didn't really have time to clean up my mess.

BREANNA - Man!

BRANDON - Well anyway, at least its stopped.

BREANNA - Yeah.

BRANDON - Well enough about that. What's up with you?

(BREANNA sighs heavily)

BREANNA - Drama.

BRANDON - Oh yeah?

BREANNA - Yeah. Dealing with my line sister. Or former line sister I guess I should say.

BRANDON - Huh?

BREANNA - I guess I can tell you. The whole yard is gonna know in a minute.

BRANDON - Tell me what?

BREANNA - Theresa said that she doesn't want to be affiliated with DST anymore. And it became final. So she is out.

JAHANNA's door closes as GREGG walks out into the hallway.

(silence)

(JAHANNA looks around her room. Everything is in its perfect place. She finally grasps the reality that she was daydreaming about her and GREGG. She quickly runs to the door and opens it.)

JAHANNA - Gregg, wait up.

(GREGG is down the hall and he turns around.)

GREGG - Huh?

JAHANNA - Come back for a second. One more thing?

GREGG - What?

JAHANNA - Come here.

(GREGG sucks his teeth and starts to walk back. JAHANNA goes back into her place and leaves her door cracked.)

(silence)

GREGG - What's up?

(GREGG walks back in the room.)

JAHANNA - You forgot something.

GREGG - What?

(JAHANNA walks up and grabs GREGG's shirt and pulls him toward her.)

GREGG - Hey, what are you doing?

JAHANNA - Shut up!

(JAHANNA kisses GREGG. His eyes open wide in shock.)

GREGG - Hey what the...

(silence)

(silence)

(silence)

(GREGG kisses her back. She pushes him up against the refridgerator.)

GREGG - What are you doing?

JAHANNA - Something that you should've done a long time ago! I just got tired of waiting!

(JAHANNA and GREGG start to kiss furiously.)

GREGG thinks - ...done...

(They are passionately kissing.)

GREGG thinks - ...a long...

(He spins her around from the fridge to the counter top and picks her up. He places her down on the kitchen counter as they continue to kiss.)

GREGG thinks - ...time ago?

(GREGG pulls back.)

GREGG - J! J! Hold up hold up.

(She stops.)

GREGG - How long have you wanted to do this?

(They are both breathing heavy.)

JAHANNA - Um...

(She stares at him then smiles.)

JAHANNA - ...what difference does it make?

(She leans back and tries to look seductive.)

(silence)

GREGG - Exactly!

BREANNA just explained to BRANDON about her line sister THERESA breaking off her membership to Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

BRANDON - What!

BREANNA - Yep. She felt like Delta didn't offer her whatever and she said that she no longer wanted to be a part.

BRANDON - But she can't do that. Can she?

BREANNA - Well she will always be a member and to me a soror. But she won't be active according to her. I mean, she knows the secrets and whatever. That can't change.

BRANDON - Obviously. Damn that's messed up.

BREANNA - Oh you have no idea. I don't think anyone was affected by it the way that I am. Its devastating.

BRANDON - Must be.

BREANNA - Imagine one of your line brothers just up and quitting one day.

BRANDON - Yeah, that's crazy.

BREANNA - Yeah. And for us, it was only me and T. So she totally left me hanging.

BRANDON - Yeah. Damn.

(silence)

BREANNA - Well I'm glad yall aint got those kinds of issues. Today is gonna be a great day for your line brother. Getting married! Wow!

BRANDON - Yeah. Isn't this crazy?

BREANNA - I think it is so beautiful. I mean, why graduate and go into the world and then try and do it. If you meet that special person and you know that this is the person that God has for you, then do it now.

BRANDON - Think so?

BREANNA - Yeah. I think this is way romantic. I love it. I am so happy for both of them.

BRANDON - Yeah, me too. They are such a family. And with their little son now, its just so complete.

BREANNA - Yeah.

(They pull up to the chapel.)

BRANDON - I'm really happy you came with me.

BREANNA - I'm happy you invited me.

(They both smile as BRANDON turns the car off. She goes to open the door but he waits.)

BREANNA - What?

BRANDON - Oh... nothing.

BREANNA - What?

(She is smiling.)

BRANDON - Well you know I aint the mushy type but... you look really nice and I'm just glad you're here. With me.

(She smiles at him.)

BREANNA - Awwww. Thank you.

(They lean over and kiss very gently... very slowly.)

BRANDON - You are such a nice kisser.

BREANNA - Yeah right, I'm just following your lead mister!

(They kiss once more then get out the car.)

BRANDON - Okay. Do I have lipstick on me?

BREANNA - Oh yes! Sorry! Come here.

(She wipes his lips off as he puts his tuxedo jacket on.)

BRANDON - How do I look?

BREANNA - Quite handsome and debonair if I must say so.

BRANDON - You must!

(He bends slightly and exagerratedly extends his arm for her to take.)

BRANDON - Shall we?

BREANNA - We shall.

(They laugh as they walk up the steps to the church.)

BRANDON - Decorations are nice. This is gonna be real nice.

BREANNA - Yeah.

BRANDON - Okay let me get you seated and settled and then I need to go in the back and see where everyone is. I guess the guys are in the back.

BREANNA - Yeah. Probably.

(He walks her to a pew in the church and she sits down. He sits next to her for a moment.)

BRANDON - Okay, let me check out what's going on and where everyone is.

BREANNA - Okay.

BRANDON - Gina said that this wedding is starting on time no matter what! So I know bros are here.

(BRANDON laughs.)

BRANDON - She aint no joke.

BREANNA - I aint mad at her.

BRANDON - So you sure you okay? I hate to leave you by yourself?

BREANNA - Don't be silly, I'll be...

DENICE - Is anyone sitting next to you?

(BRANDON and BREANNA look up and see DENICE standing in the aisle.)

DENICE - Hey Brandon, how you been? Hi Breanna. Is the seat next to you taken?

CANDACE has just punched CARYN in the neck, outside of a convenience store.

CARYN - Unnnnnh!

(CARYN leans back against the car and grabs her neck.)

CARYN - What the hell are you doing!

(CANDACE grabs a handfull of CARYN's hair.)

CARYN - Ahhhh!

CANDACE - You never slept with Nino! You lied! You've been lying the whole time!

CARYN - Ow! What are you talking about! Ouch!

(CANDACE throws CARYN back and she falls against the car again. The car alarm goes off.)

CARYN - What are you talking about! Hey! Stop!

(CANDACE takes both hands and grabs CARYN by her shirt.)

CANDACE - Did you do it! Did you do it!

CARYN - Get off me! Help! Somebody help me!

(CANDACE throws her up against the car once again and tries to hit her again. CARYN blocks it by protecting her head.)

CARYN - Ahhh! Stop you crazy bitch! Help!

CANDACE - Admit it! Tell me dammit!

(Two guys come out of the store and hear the commotion.)

JEFF - Yeah man so I... Oh shit! Look! Two ghetto chicks figthin'!

TOMMY - Oh shit!

(They both run over and try to grab CANDACE. CANDACE is kicking at CARYN.)

CANDACE - You little bitch! You never slept with him! You liar! You damn liar!

CARYN - Help me! Get her off me!

(JEFF tries to pull CANDACE back. TOMMY tries to help CARYN up.)

TOMMY - Are you alright?

(CARYN is coughing.)

JEFF - Hey! Stop this shit!

CANDACE - Get off me! Let go of me!

JEFF - Calm down! What the hell is goin' on out here!

(CARYN is holding her neck and coughing. Her hair is messed up and her face is red.)

JEFF - Hey! Hey! Calm down okay! Calm down!

CANDACE - You don't know me! Get your hands off me!

JEFF - Not until you take it easy okay!

TOMMY - What happened out here? Shit!

(Nobody says anything.)

TOMMY - Well? What happened?

(CARYN tries to straighten up and fix her hair. She looks CANDACE straight in the eye.)

CARYN - She's my lover and she got the nerve to be mad at me because I caught her with another woman!

(GREGG knocks over JAHANNA's blender which she just unplugged so that she could pack it to leave.)

JAHANNA thinks - Yes! Yes! Finally! Oh God I love him!

GREGG thinks - What the hell? Whatever!

(She climbs down off the counter while keeping both arms locked around GREGG's neck. As he helps her down, his hands go under her shirt. She doesn't stop him.)

GREGG thinks - Oh shit! I can hit this!

(They continue kissing as they move to the other room. His hands are caressing her back under her shirt.)

JAHANNA thinks - Oh God this is what I wanted! This is it! Its gonna happen!

(Her fingers are all over his face and hair as she backs him up toward the bed. He starts to pick up her shirt and she raises her arms.)

GREGG thinks - Shit yeah! I'm bout to tear this up!

(He takes her shirt off and throws it. She starts to kiss him again.)

JAHANNA thinks - I can't believe I am doing this! I can't believe this is happening!

GREGG thinks - Wait... what about fuckin' Dexter!

(silence)

(GREGG looks at JAHANNA's breasts through her see through bra.)

GREGG thinks - Fuck Dexter!

(She pushes him back and he falls backward onto her bed. He looks up at her as if he is surprised. Then he quickly starts to take his shirt off.)

JAHANNA - Tell me something...

(She runs her hand through her own hair in an attempt to look sexy.)

JAHANNA - ...what's my name!

(GREGG busts out laughing as he throws his shirt. She climbs on top of him smiling. He grabs her breasts and they start to kiss again.)

JAHANNA - Oh yes!

(She starts to bite GREGG's neck as he tries to unfasten her bra from the back.)

GREGG - Why didn't you tell me this before! Why didn't you tell me you was trying to get down!

JAHANNA - I think I had my reasons. Think about it.

GREGG - Well whatever!

JAHANNA - Yeah, whatever!

(They start to kiss again as she maneuvers her arms from the bra.)

GREGG thinks - Oh shit! I don't think I have anymore condoms on me!

(He starts to unbuckle his belt.)

GREGG thinks - Fuck it! J aint got nothin'!

(He zips his pants open as he rolls her over from being on top of him to being underneath him.)

JAHANNA - Oh!

JAHANNA thinks - Yes! Throw me around!

(GREGG immediately goes down and starts to suck JAHANNA's nipple.)

JAHANNA - Oh! Oh God!

(Meanwhile in the hallway.)

DEXTER - Thanks for coming over with me. I think you really can talk some sense into this girl.

PJ - Yeah man, no problem. I can't let Jahanna leave Ahpla. Thanks for confiding in me. And besides, if she has feelings for Gregg then she needs to let that shit go quick because he is nothing but bad news!

TOMMY and JEFF have stood between CANDACE and CARYN and are trying to calm them down.

TOMMY - What happened?

(CARYN tries to straighten up and fix her hair. She looks CANDACE straight in the eye.)

CARYN - She's my lover and she got the nerve to be mad at me because I caught her with another woman!

TOMMY - What!

CANDACE - What! You liar! I'll kick your ass!

(CANDACE lunges for CARYN again but JEFF grabs her back.)

JEFF - Wait! Wait a minute!

(In CANDACE's attempt to get back at CARYN, she slaps JEFF in the head.)

JEFF - Hey!

(He then gets control of her again.)

CARYN - Angry lover!

TOMMY - You lying! Is that what this shit is about?

CANDACE - Hell no that aint what this is about! I'll tell you what this is about!

JEFF - Okay wait a minute wait a minute! Fighting will get you nowhere!

TOMMY - Shit! Yes it will!

JEFF - Shut up Tommy! Now everybody just calm down and take it easy before some cops come by here or something! And turn off that damn alarm!

(CANDACE is fuming but she reaches into her pocket and pulls out her keys. She turns off her car alarm.)

JEFF - Thank you. Now look. What can we do to get to the bottom of this because I don't want yall out here killing each other. You know what I'm sayin'? So what happened? Is this some relationship shit really?

(CANDACE speaks calmly but angrily.)

CANDACE - She has a son. His name is Derrick. Her son's biological father is my ex fiancee. His name was Nino. He died a couple years ago from heart failure.

TOMMY - Wait... Nino... was he an Alpha?

CANDACE - Yes. You knew him?

TOMMY - Yeah I knew him! Jeff, you remember Nino. He was mad cool! I remember when he died! The whole campus was shocked!

JEFF - Oh yeah! I went to the memorial service! That was your man?

CANDACE - Yes. We were engaged to be married.

TOMMY - Oh wow! Sorry.

JEFF - Yeah. Damn.

CANDACE - Thank you.

CARYN - Oh Lord!

(CANDACE ignores CARYN and continues.)

CANDACE - As devastating as it is to lose someone like Nino, I tried to move on with my life. I tried my best to let go and to move on. You know?

JEFF - Yeah.

CANDACE - Then she has a son and tests prove that it's Nino's child.

JEFF - What! Oh shit!

TOMMY - Damn!

CANDACE - So she leads me and everyone else involved to believe that she had been sleeping with Nino and that he had been cheating on me all along.

(Now she looks at CARYN and raises her voice.)

CANDACE - When the truth is that she took a used condom and used it on herself not knowing it was a condom from when Nino was with me! She was trying to get pregnant by Nino's roommate and messed around and got pregnant by Nino!

JEFF - What!

TOMMY - Eww! That is fucking gross! Did you do that nasty ass shit!

JEFF - You took a use condom and did what?

CANDACE - Yes her ghetto ass did it! She turned it inside out and stuck up inside her coochie! That's what she did!

JEFF - Oh God I want to throw up now!

(CANDACE starts to move toward CARYN again.)

CANDACE - Admit it! Be a woman and admit it! Tell them what you did! Tell them how you lied! Tell them!

(JEFF grabs CANDACE's arm.)

CARYN - Alright dammit! Alright! I don't know how you found out Candace but fine! Now you know! So what! The fact is that my boy is Nino's son regardless and he's gonna grow up to be a better man than Nino ever was! What!

(TOMMY looks at JEFF who looks back at TOMMY.)

JEFF - Listen, if I was you...

(JEFF is speaking to CANDACE as he lets go of her arm.)

JEFF - ...I would beat the shit out this bitch. Come on Tommy, let's be out.
