XAVIER gets out of his car and turns to put the alarm on.
XAVIER thinks - I hope I can still get a seat! This joint may be sold out!
(He walks toward the mall entrance and checks his watch.)
XAVIER thinks - Doesn't look too crowded, and I was able to get a parking spot pretty quic... oh shoot!
(XAVIER walks inside the mall and there is a large crowd of people surrounding the movie theater.)
XAVIER thinks - Oh shoot!
(He walks up and looks at the screen.)
XAVIER thinks - Dag! Its sold out!
(He looks around and sees how long the line is to get to the ticket window.)
XAVIER thinks - I might as well get in line and see if I can catch the next showing. This is amazing! Everybody is trying to see this film!
(He goes back and stands in line behind a couple.)
XAVIER thinks - Dag, this might take all day!
(He looks at his watch and checks the board again.)
XAVIER thinks - Dag!
(The guy in front of him turns around.)
JERRY - Here to see The Passion of Christ too?
XAVIER - Yeah dude. You too?
JERRY - I was trying to see the last show but its been sold out all week! Crazy!
XAVIER - I hear ya. I wanted to see it when it first came out but I couldn't.
JERRY - Oh yeah dude, you think this is bad, we came up here the first weekend and never found a parking spot!
XAVIER - Ha ha ha ha! Really?
JERRY - Yeah man. But at least we got up in here now and we're gonna check it out. The line is actually moving kind of fast and the next showing is in forty five minutes. So by the time we do that, we should be straight.
XAVIER - Oh true true. I was hoping that I wouldn't be sitting around bored for a long time because I missed the one showing right now.
JERRY - Naw dude, that one sold out over an hour ago!
XAVIER - Gosh! I think its great though.
JERRY - Yeah me too.
(JERRY turns back around and starts to talk to his female companion and XAVIER looks at the various people that are in line to see the movie.)
XAVIER thinks - Wow, this is appealing to everyone! Young people, old people, whites, blacks, I mean they got just about everyo... oh shoot!
(He recognizes someone and looks closer.)
XAVIER thinks - That is her!
XAVIER - Hey man, I didn't catch your name.
JERRY - Oh, Jerry. And this is Shauntrece.
SHAUNTRECE - Hi.
XAVIER - Nice to meet you. I'm Xavier. Can you do me a favor Jerry, can you hold my spot in line? I just saw a friend of mine over there.
JERRY - No prob fam. You got it.
XAVIER - Thanks, I'll be right back!
(XAVIER steps out of line and walks toward the credit card ticket machine.)
XAVIER - Hey.
(CHRISTIAN quickly turns around.)
CHRISTIAN - Man! You scared the crap out of me!
XAVIER - Huh? All I said was hey.
CHRISTIAN - Yeah, but I was doing my credit card. I thought you were trying to rob me!
XAVIER - Ha ha ha ha, oh my bad!
CHRISTIAN -What are you doing here?
XAVIER - I wanted to see The Passion of Christ right now but its sold out. So I figured I'd wait in line and see it in forty five minutes.
(CHRISTIAN looks at the long line.)
CHRISTIAN - By the time you get to the ticket counter, that one is gonna be sold out too.
XAVIER - Think so?
CHRISTIAN - Heck yeah. Everybody is here to see the same thing. I'm here to see it to.
XAVIER - You are?
CHRISTIAN - I mean dag Z, don't say it like I'm heathen or something! I am named Christian ya know.
(They both laugh loud.)
XAVIER - You know I didn't mean it like that.
CHRISTIAN - Shut up. Who are you here with?
XAVIER - I came alone. You?
CHRISTIAN - By myself too.
XAVIER - Oh.
CHRISTIAN - Tell ya what. Why don't I just use my card to get two tickets instead of one. That way, you're guranteed to get a ticket and we can see it together.
XAVIER - That would be great because the next showing isn't until later this evening and I can't wait that long. And I can just give you the cash for my ticket right now.
CHRISTIAN - Cool beans. Let me void out this transaction and do it again for two tickets.
XAVIER - Cool! Thanks!

BRANDON and BREANNA are sitting in the 24/7 Diner talking about him being kicked out of the band.

(BRANDON turns around. BREANNA looks up. They are still holding hands across the table. DENICE and SHARONDA have walked up behind BRANDON.)
DENICE - I see you don't waste any time in moving on huh?
BRANDON thinks - Oh shit!
DENICE - You aint even five minutes out the hot seat and you got some new broad already!
BREANNA - Excuse me!
(DENICE doesn't respond to BREANNA at all.)
DENICE - Can I talk to you Brandon...
(She looks at BREANNA, then back at BRANDON.)
DENICE - alone!
BREANNA - I wanna know who you think you callin' a broad!
DENICE - Shut up! This don't concern you!
BRANDON - Denice...
MIKE - Oh wait a minute!
(BRANDON and DENICE turn around, hearing MIKE being extra loud.)
MIKE - Not the white boy! Please tell me you aint dealin' with the white boy!
BRANDON thinks -White boy?
CALVIN - What you call me!
BRANDON - Calvin!
(BRANDON jumps up and looks over his booth. He sees MIKE's back and CALVIN about to stand up.)
CALVIN - Dude, you don't know me like that and I suggest you leave...
MIKE - Dude! Dude! You don't know me...
(MIKE imitates CALVIN.)
MIKE - Shut the hell up white boy, this don't concern you!
(MIYA laughs.)
MIKE - I can't believe my ex would be seen with you like this though. Is the dating scene that bad since me baby?
(MIKE smiles as he turns to look at GWEN who is speechless.)
MIKE - I mean, did you have to...
(CALVIN punches MIKE in the face and MIKE falls to the floor.)

XAVIER and CHRISTIAN are walking out of the movie together. CHRISTIAN has tears in her eyes.
XAVIER - Wow.
CHRISTIAN - Yeah.
XAVIER - You okay?
CHRISTIAN - Yes.
XAVIER - That was awesome. I've never seen a movie audience so quiet after a movie ends.
CHRISTIAN - I mean, what can you say?
XAVIER - I think the thing is, everyone knows that Jesus died on the cross but the crucifix that you see has him all clean, some blood on his head and some blood on his side. But this movie keeps it real!
CHRISTIAN - Yeah.
(CHRISTIAN wipes her eyes.)
XAVIER - You gonna be okay?
CHRISTIAN - Yeah, I think I just need to get some air or something. It really was brutal and it got to me.
XAVIER - Yeah. Okay. Well uh, let me walk you out to your car or something. Come here.
(XAVIER puts his arm around CHRISTIAN.)
XAVIER - You'll be okay. His life and death have that kind of affect on all of us. Ya know?
CHRISTIAN - Yes. I know.

OCTAVIA is in APRIL's room. She is waiting for APRIL to get dressed.
(OCTAVIA sighs loudly and looks at her watch.)
OCTAVIA - April, in a minute its not gonna make sense for us to go. Come on please!
APRIL - Okay, okay! I'm coming.
(APRIL is fixing her make-up in her mirror.)
APRIL - I gotta make sure I'm pretty! You know how I do.
(OCTAVIA sighs and rolls her eyes.)
OCTAVIA - All I gotta do is return this shirt. It isn't that big of a deal. I walk in, I exchange the shirt, I walk out.
APRIL - But you never know what may happen sands. You may meet the man of your dreams in the mall and today may be your day.
OCTAVIA - What? April, I'm going to the mall and exchanging a shirt. I'm not in the mood to be out there meeting men.
APRIL - Octavia...
(APRIL stops looking in the mirror and turns to face her.)
APRIL - ...ever since you and Donte broke up, you haven't gone out, you haven't been on a date, you haven't gone to any parties or anything. You've beena bump on a log ever since.
OCTAVIA - So?
APRIL - There's a whole world out there that you just aren't exploring sands. You're gonna miss it.
OCTAVIA - No, you're gonna miss it. That world that you're talking about is what I'm preparing for. When I graduate, I know I'm going to medical school. I got accepted into three of em. I know what I'm gonna be doing. What about you?
(APRIL smiles and goes back to her face in the mirror.)
OCTAVIA - And you're about to miss going to the mall with me. Good bye.
(OCTAVIA grabs her purse and her bag with her shirt.)
APRIL - Okay okay... I'm ready!
(APRIL does something quickly with her hair and grabs her purse and jacket. OCTAVIA is already in the hallway.)
APRIL - Wait girl!
(APRIL runs into the hallway and down the hall toward the elevator.)

(BRANDON gets up and races over. BREANNA gets up and looks.)
BREANNA - Gwen!
(BREANNA starts to get up to rush to her soror GWEN.)
DENICE - Where do you think you're going?
(DENICE grabs BREANNA's arm.)
BREANNA - Get off me!
DENICE - You stay away from Brandon!
(BREANNA yanks her arm away and runs over. GWEN is covering her mouth with her hands as CALVIN jumps on MIKE and people from the diner rush over to break them up.)
BRANDON - Calvin!
(BRANDON turns the corner and start to pull people off the group to get to his line brother.)
OWNER - We aint gonna have no fightin' up in here!
(CALVIN is pulled off MIKE who is held back and picked up.)
MIKE - You punch like a white boy!
CALVIN - And you take punches like a punching bag!
OWNER - Get out of here! You first!
MIKE - Why I gotta leave! He started it! Kick him out!
GWEN - Nevermind! We're leaving!
(GWEN turns to CALVIN.)
GWEN - Are you alright?
CALVIN - Yeah, I'm fine.
(They let CALVIN go and he grabs his jacket.)
BRANDON - Frat!
(CALVIN turns around and sees that it was BRANDON holding him up.)
BRANDON - You okay man?
CALVIN - Yeah.
(CALVIN is visibly pissed and starts to walk out. GWEN grabs his arm.)
BREANNA - Gwen!
(BRANDON turns to BREANNA.)
BRANDON - Let's go with them. Is that alright?
BREANNA - Yeah yeah, sure.
BRANDON - Way too much drama in here.
(BRANDON and BREANNA start to leave. DENICE grabs BRANDON's arm.)
DENICE - I said I wanted to talk to you Brandon! Don't think you can just stroll out!

APRIL is in OCTAVIA's car. They are driving to the mall.
APRIL - This car is so damn hot sands!
(OCTAVIA laughs.)
OCTAVIA - Its just a car April.
APRIL - Just a car? This is a BMW! Brand new!
OCTAVIA - Daddy takes care of his little girl. Especially when she gets good grades.
APRIL - Well can you please tell your daddy to get me one?
(They both laugh.)
OCTAVIA - Whatever.
APRIL - And I love this color! This silver is so hot! Can I borrow it?
OCTAVIA - Nope!
APRIL - Why not?
(OCTAVIA doesn't answer.)
APRIL - Well anyway.
(APRIL starts messing with the radio.)
APRIL - Let me tell you this idea that I have.
OCTAVIA - I'm scared to hear it.
APRIL - No this is a good idea.
OCTAVIA - I'll be the judge of that. Hit me with it.
APRIL - Okay. I wanted to surprise my boobie and take him to see the movie about Jesus.
OCTAVIA - Oh that Mel Gibson movie?
APRIL - Yeah. I know he would enjoy it. So basically I started to read up about a lot of it. You know, in the bible.
OCTAVIA - Oh good for you.
APRIL - Yeah. That way, when I take him to go see it, I can be a little more educated about it when we talk about it.
OCTAVIA - Now you're thinking. Guys like to have a girl who relates to things that they are interested in. Like if a girl was really into sports, that would be cool to most guys.
APRIL - Yeah.
OCTAVIA - So I think this is a good thing for you to do.
APRIL - I know he'll appreciate it. I was thinking we'd go see it tomorrow.
OCTAVIA - Cool.

(OCTAVIA drives past the mall entrance and hooks a left turn to catch an opening parking spot.)
XAVIER - I saw an interview with Mel Gibson. I was so impressed.
CHRISTIAN - Really?
(XAVIER and CHRISTIAN walk out the mall entrance and into the parking lot.)
XAVIER - Yeah. He was saying that all he wants is for people to start to read the book. Its like pick up the bible and start to read it. I aint mad at him.
CHRISTIAN - Yeah.
XAVIER - Are you okay? I've never known you to be at such a loss for words.
CHRISTIAN - What you tryin' to say?
(She slaps his leg.)
APRIL - Why is the mall parking lot always crowded?
OCTAVIA - I don't know but fortunately for me, I usually get lucky with parking spots.
(OCTAVIA reaches down to the floor to grab the club to put on her steering wheel.)
OCTAVIA - Oh, can you do me a favor and grab my bag off the floor of the backseat? Its right behind my seat.
APRIL - Yeah.
(APRIL bends over to reach into the backseat.)
XAVIER - Where's your car?
(CHRISTIAN stops walking and looks around.)
CHRISTIAN - Um... dag I'm so disoriented, I don't even know where I am.
XAVIER - You want me to drive you over to your car? I'm over this way.
(XAVIER turns around to point to his car.)
APRIL - Here's your bag. Let me just check my make up.
OCTAVIA - What!
(APRIL pulls the visor down and looks in the mirror.)
CHRISTIAN - No, you don't have to do that. I know I came in this way so my car is out here... oh wait...
(CHRISTIAN points to her car.)
CHRISTIAN - ...there I am. Right next to that silver BMW.
